aleo Sunrise has started operation of cell production in Prenzlau

After nine months of construction and renovation phase, the subsidiary of aleo solar GmbH now starts the production of highly efficient PERC solar cells CELCO technology. In the current year the production of about 30 MW poly- and monocrystalline solar cells is planned in fully continuous series production. The current annual production capacity of the two production lines is 100 MW, but is expandable to four production lines and 200 MW. aleo Sunrise GmbH was founded last year as a 100 percent subsidiary of the module manufacturer aleo solar GmbH.

On Monday, the 12th of September 2016, the production lines of aleo Sunrise were officially inaugurated.The Minister of Economics of Brandenburg, Albrecht Gerber, welcomes the activities of aleo solar. “You have proven the fact that your business, Mr. Chen, is not only interested in the preservation of this solar location, but also in its further development. As the Ministry of Economy, we support your investment with pleasure. The Prenzlau region can only benefit. Conversely aleo will also benefit from Prenzlau. Because “made in Brandenburg” stands for top performance and top quality, “said Gerber.

The aleo parent company SAS (Sino American Silicon Products Inc.), headquartered in Taiwan Hsinchu is an experienced producer of wafers and high performance solar cells. “We benefit from the long-term commitment of SAS Group, founded in 1981, in the development of highly efficient solar cells,” says William Chen, CEO of aleo Sunrise GmbH and aleo solar GmbH. “We can produce 3-, 4- and 5-busbar cells and thanks to the Group’s proven CELCO technology achieve average efficiencies above 21,0 percent in mass production,” adds Alexander Kasic, head of cell production.

„Due to the cell production in Germany aleo solar is even more flexible and is placed confidently in the market with a larger share of the value chain,” says William Chen “with cells and modules made in Germany we make ourselves independent of anti-dumping duties and driving up costs in exchange rates. Due to the integration of a further production step at our German location, our engineers can tune the cell and module technology even better together. “Said Chen. “That ensures the quality and efficiency of production made in Germany.”

aleo Sunrise GmbH was founded in August 2015 as 100 percent subsidiary of aleo solar GmbH. On 9th of September 2016 the first two production lines went officially in the fully continuous series production. aleo Sunrise GmbH has an annual capacity of 100 MW of poly- and monocrystalline high efficiency solar cells and currently employs 57 staff.
